Things to Do in Reykjavik
Whether you’re looking for a fun activity, or a relaxing place to explore, Reykjavik is a great place to visit. While it’s not the most well-known city in the world, it is still full of surprises and unique attractions.
What should you not miss in Iceland?
What to do in reykjavik? Reykjavik’s Settlement Exhibition is one of the most unique things to do in Reykjavik. The site features a Viking longhouse, as well as other archaeological remnants. The longhouse would have been built with turf walls and stone in the base.
The settlement exhibition is also the home of Iceland’s punk rock museum. If you’re into music, you’ll want to check out the symphony orchestra and the Icelandic opera. Located in a historic stone wall building, it’s also home to a cafe and a gift shop.
Another unique thing to do in Reykjavik is to visit the Pallological Museum. Here, you’ll find preserved penises from various species. There are even elephant penises to look at!
Another popular attraction in Reykjavik is the Blue Lagoon. The thermal pools are located just outside of the city. These are the most popular hot water lagoons in Iceland. While you can go for a dip in these pools, you’ll pay a large entrance fee.
The Blue Lagoon is a popular attraction, but you may have to wait in line. It’s also a very popular place to go for mud facials. While the pools are nice, the prices are too high.
For an alternative experience, visit the Icelandic Museum of Natural History. It’s not a family-friendly place, but it’s an interesting place to explore.
