Scanners process program input. This can be things that users type, or data read in from a file scanner. Scanners start at the beginning of input and move forward, reading it line by line or word by word.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap Camera. Then, tap Scan. A pop-up menu will appear. If you’re using a scanner with a flatbed or feeder, make sure that the document is face-down in the scanner. You may also need to enable the scanner’s automatic focus and white balance.

When you’re done scanning, your scan will be saved to a folder named Scans in the Camera Roll on your iPhone or iPad (or a similar name on Mac). Then, tap View to see the results. If you want to reorder the pages in your scan, long-press a page to drag and reposition it. You can also tap Edit to adjust a scan’s details, like cropping or adding a black-and-white or whiteboard filter.

If you’re a Dropbox Plus, Family, Professional, Standard, or Advanced customer, you can search the contents of your scanned documents in Dropbox. You can also share a link to a scan with others, or send it as an email attachment. Dropbox Business customers can add a custom message to any scan they share with collaborators. If you’re a Business customer, you can also connect a scanner to your scanner account to automatically sync your scans with your Dropbox account.
