The Lebanon team joined the YouthCaN Family at YC NYC 2001 and had such a great time that they are planning their third Conference "YouthCaN Mediterranean 2004" in Lebanon!

Their conference will be on the 26th of April 2004 from 3:30 to 7:00 pm and they will connect with the YouthCaN New York conference via video conference!

Preparing for the Conference
The team in Lebanon is planning a workshop starting on 26th January 2004 to help teachers work with their students on YouthCaN projects. Visit the YCMed site at <http://www.emetni.com/youthcan.htm> to find out more about their Teacher Support activities.

The aim of this workshop is to guide teachers working with students in planning and implementing "YouthCaN" projects and in addressing the global and local environmental issues that they will select with your students.

The objective of YouthCaN Med online workshop is to enable you to:

  • Learn how to integrate an environmental collaborative project into your classroom
  • Communicate with iEARN project coordinators and teachers to get first hand knowledge about global and local environmental issues and project
  • Correlate an environmental project to your local curriculum objectives
  • Plan, implement and engage your students in an environmental project and have them collaborate with their peers around the world
  • Plan your students' participation in YouthCaN environmental conference
  • Engage and maintain long-lasting post workshop personal and professional relationships in a secure, caring and experienced environment.
